01How do you build the system for my home?
We start with a home survey. We measure each room, look at windows, walls and insulation, and talk about how you use your home and hot water. From this we work out the right boiler size and the size of each radiator.
Getting the sizing right is what makes a system warm and cheap to run. Too small and rooms stay cold. Too big and you waste gas.
02What is included in a full central heating system?
A full central heating installation from AR Heating covers:
- A new A rated boiler sized for your home
- New pipework, run neatly and hidden where possible
- New radiators with thermostatic radiator valves
- A hot water cylinder where your home needs one
- Room thermostat or smart controls
- System flush, fill, testing and balancing
- Handover, warranty registration and Gas Safe paperwork
03Can you fit central heating in an older home?
Yes. Many older homes in and around Watford have old systems, storage heaters or no central heating at all. We plan the pipe routes around your home to keep disruption low, and choose radiators sized for high ceilings, solid walls and older windows.
If your home has some sound pipework, we can often reuse part of it and focus the work where it matters.
04Which boiler suits my central heating?
The right boiler depends on your home and hot water use. A combi suits smaller homes with one bathroom, with no tank needed. A system boiler with a cylinder suits homes with two or more bathrooms, as it can feed several taps at once. We fit Worcester Bosch, Vaillant, Ideal and Baxi boilers, with warranties of up to 10 years depending on the model.
05Will the system last?
We use trusted parts, fit them with care, and test the whole system before we leave. We flush the system clean, add inhibitor to protect the pipes, and balance every radiator so each room heats evenly.
With a yearly boiler service and an occasional check of the system water, a well fitted central heating system gives many years of reliable warmth.
06How much does central heating cost?
The cost depends on the size of your home, the number of radiators, the boiler type and how much pipework is needed. We visit, survey your home and give you a fixed price in writing. The price we quote is the price you pay.
