01What makes underfloor heating good?
Heat rises from the whole floor and spreads evenly across the room, so there are no hot spots near a radiator and no cold corners. You get your wall space back, which helps in kitchens and small bathrooms, and your feet stay warm on cold mornings.
Because the whole floor gives off heat, the system can run at a lower water temperature than radiators while keeping the room just as warm.
02Wet or electric underfloor heating: which is best?
Wet underfloor heating runs warm water from your boiler through pipes under the floor. It suits larger areas, new builds, extensions and ground floors, and is usually cheaper to run.
Electric underfloor heating uses thin heating mats under the floor finish. It suits single rooms such as bathrooms and small kitchens, where lifting and raising the whole floor is not practical. We advise which type fits your room in your quote.

04Does underfloor heating work with any floor?
Most floors, yes. Tile and stone hold heat well and are the best match. Engineered wood and laminate work well with the right system. Carpet can work too, as long as the carpet and underlay are not too thick. We check your chosen floor and advise before we fit.
05Is underfloor heating easy to run?
Yes. Each room or zone gets its own thermostat, so you set the warmth you want in each space. Pair the system with a smart control and you can run your heating from your phone.
Underfloor heating takes longer to warm up than radiators, so it works best on a timer set to suit your day. We set this up with you before we leave.
06How does the installation work?
Here is how we fit underfloor heating
- Survey: we look at the room, the floor and your boiler

- Fitting: insulation, pipes or mats, and the manifold or wiring
- Floor: screed or the floor finish goes down, by us or your builder
- Controls: thermostats and smart controls set up

08Will underfloor heating work with my boiler?
Most modern boilers can run a wet underfloor heating system. The system connects to your boiler through a manifold, which sends warm water to each zone. We check your boiler size and type first. If your boiler is too small or near the end of its life, we tell you, and can quote for a new boiler as part of the job.
